Quicktime requirements and .avi format
daggaz
First up is a 25,000kb avi I would like to import. I used to work with TIFF a lot and that was easy enough: data/load waves/load image etc.. I can see now that .avi is not directly supported, or is there another method I am missing for this task? I am looking at the PlayMovie and PlayMovieAction commands for example, and it seems I can script something to capture my avi frame by frame into wave form, but this seems to be a very long way around solution.
If I try to load it as a tiff regardless, I then get an error message that Quicktime is not installed (on my PC). So you use Quicktime to deal with unrecognized formats from what I can see in the documentation.. Is there any other use or requirements of this program? Can I can avoid it installing it completely?
Thanks,
Ian
Is there any particular reason why you don't want to install quicktime?
In case you want to use some other tool for image extraction I would use ffmpeg, see https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Seeking%20with%20FFmpeg.
