Special formatting of text symbols in graphs?
jcor
When making a graph, doing the following gives text symbols on a graph:
- Choosing "Symbol" [where you would set the data symbols]
- "Text"
- Selecting "Text from Wave"
I've used this to label mass spectral peaks with their corresponding m/z.
However, it'd be really nice if I could label peaks "properly", specifying charges and identifying atomic clusters...
e.g. 3 carbon atoms would be \S36\MC\B3\S\M\S+ for 36-C-3-+
Is there any way to add this special formatting to my text wave labels?
I messed around a bit and can't find it in the manual. I also tried annotation macros but their placement seems too haphazard for such an application.
I've made an entry in the wish list for this.
But you can use Tags. For example:
display jack
ModifyGraph mode=3,marker=8
Tag/C/N=text0/F=0/L=0/TL=0/X=0/Y=0 jack, 1,"\\S36\\MC\\B3\\S\\M\\S+"
