How to Update Igor Pro 4

NOTE: This page describes how to update the English-language version of Igor Pro. For updates to the Japanese-localized version of Igor Pro 4, click here.

You can download standalone updaters which will update any English-language Igor 4 to the latest version. These updaters usually do not require you to enter your serial number and installation key.

Windows Standalone Updater

Download WinUpdateIgorTo409A.exe from the Igor Updaters site.

Macintosh Standalone Updater

Note: Igor 4.05 was the first version of Igor that runs "natively" on Mac OS X. Owners of Igor 4.0 or later can update for free to this version by using these standalone updaters. To install this "Carbon" version of Igor, you will need your serial number and version 4 installation code.

The Macintosh standalone updater requires the Igor application folder to be named exactly "Igor Pro Folder" and Igor to be named exactly "Igor Pro".

Download MacUpdateIgorto409A.bin from the Igor Updaters site.

If you install the Carbon version of Igor, you will need your 4.x serial number and activation key. An activation key for Igor 3.x will not work.
