loading data into image

Jim
I have a bunch of XYZ data files which I have successfully loaded into Igor. The X column is the same for all files and the Z column is unimportant. I now wish to make an image plot with the X column as the x-axis and every second wave equally spaced along the y-axis. Can anyone help me with a simple example of how to do this? I know that I have to create a matrix of all the Y columns, but am unsure how to address the waves to do this. They are all just named wave0.... etc.
thanks,
Jim
