Batch curve fitting for separate data folders
vuongdanglemai
Hello everyone,
I want to do batch curve fitting for my data. Each sample is put in a separate folder, x and y in separate waves "Q" and "R", like in the photo. Do you know if the Batch Curve Fitting package can be used for this type of data organization or do you have any suggestions to modify the Igor procedure?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Mai
Unfortunately, it appears that the Batch Curve Fit panel was designed to have all your data waves in one folder. That is a design flaw; unfortunately, the author of Batch Curve Fit is no longer at WaveMetrics, which impedes updating it to allow more flexible data organization.

These data are organized in "QRS" SAS structure. My Irena (https://usaxs.xray.aps.anl.gov/software/irena) package has GUI data selection tool designed to handle exactly these data and fit them as batch. If the tools in Irena are not enough for you, it might be possible to add what you need to fit to Irena. I added recently "Simple fits" which is basically selection of simple formulas one can fit in sequence to exactly these data. Adding one or two more functions may be easy enough. With bit more work, I can help you reuse Irena GUI for data selection and add fitting of what you want. Penalty for doing this is that you may have to keep Irena loaded with your own tools, extracting only this data picker to sever it from Irena might be real challenge. E-mail me if interested, contact is on Irena page.
