What's the best way to learn how to use Igor?

I've posted multiple basic questions on this forum by now. Getting started with Igor has proved more difficult than I anticipated. Other than reviewing Igor's built-in sample experiments and perusing old posts on this forum, does anyone recommend a good book or tutorial series I can utilize to teach myself? (I'm using Igor primarily for image processing at the moment). I've had a hard time finding any teaching material whatsoever on Igor. What did some of you do to cross from beginner to expert other than engaging in on-the-job training and/or trial-and-error experimentation?
Assuming that you have gone through the Getting Started Tutorial you might benefit from the Image Processing Tutorial which you can find under File Menu -> Example Experiments ->Tutorials.

Doing the Guided Tour, or at least the first half of it, is really required for learning Igor. Things will make a lot more sense after you have done it.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Choose Help->Getting Started (opens an Igor help window).

2. Open the PDF manual (Help->Manual from within Igor). Read Chapter I-1 and do the tutorial in Chapter I-2.

It's the same material either way.

Although I think actually doing the tour yourself is beneficial, you can also see it on video at http://www.wavemetrics.com/products/igorpro/videotutorials.htm.
