Completely new to Igor, please help!

I just got Igor today and am trying to learn it. I understand how to load a wave normally from a text file but what is the syntax for loading it via the procedure coding window? Basically my goal is to import data from a text file and create a graph from it.

First, do the Guided Tour. Select Help->Getting Started.

There is a help topic that will give you some information on your problem. Copy this command, paste it into Igor's command line and press Enter:

DisplayHelpTopic "Loading Waves Using Igor Procedures"
