Importing and 3D graphing x,y,z data from a csv
lost2010
I'm very new to Igor and am really struggling with my first task. Please forgive a probably very stupid question:
I need to import a csv file that contains 3 variables, x,y,z and about 16,000 lines of data. Once imported, I would like to create a 3D plot, i.e. with an x, y and z axis. Please could someone tell me how I do this? I've been starting with Data>Load Waves>Load Delimited Text, then trying to graph it through Windows>New>3D Plots, but nothing lights up (it is all grayed out, except other), so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong.
If someone could help me out, I would be extremely grateful.
Many thanks
Jon
Read that section for details.
If you don't see the Windows->New->3D Plots->3D Help then you should update to the latest version of Igor.

In addition to the documentation which Howard mentioned you might want to try the video tutorial "Creating a Surface Plot from Scatter Data" here:
