how to modify box-plots
aksoyayl
I am relatively new to use IgorPro (6.34A) to make figures. I can generate and modify the box-plots from the igor package but after I save the file I can not make further modifications, eg. change the filling color or the position of the colored box (graph tools do not work). Is there a solution to this?
Many Thanks! A.
BUT- all that is moot if you join the beta program for Igor 8. We have added built-in box plots AND violin plots. Since they are built-in, they are more capable (you can have more than one set of box plots on a single graph, for instance). For you, the down-side is that you will need to purchase an upgrade to Igor 7 in order to join the beta program. But we would love to have you do that- I'm really interested in getting people who really use box plots in real life to try out this major new feature.

For the current figure I can see the modify box plot (left it open) but it does not work, also the graph tools do not work.
Many Thanks, A.

You (or someone) have changed the color of the color fill boxes. If you change the fill color using the Modify Box Plot panel, it will change the colors to all one color.
Perhaps what you are asking about, however, is how to change the color of the boxes using the graph draw tools. You can do that, too. Turn on the Draw Mode by clicking the lower button in the tool palette. Most likely you need to select the correct draw layer- hold the Option or Alt key down and click on the Environment button (the one with the tree on it). Select the User Axes layer. Now you should be able to change the colors of the boxes, or even move and resize them.
