Category Plot with Calculated X wave from dimension labels

Hi,

I have a numeric wave with labels associated with the points. I am using point labels more and more these days. The reason being is that I want to keep the data together and a 2D wave needs to be all the same data type.

It would be nice to be able to graph a category plot using the point dimension labels. At present I need to create a separate text wave from the labels and then use it for the x-wave.

Similar to a calculated x wave from the scaling, it would be cool if an x wave for the labels could be calculated from the dimension labels.

That is a really nice idea, and pretty obvious. I have entered a ticket so that we won't forget it. Unfortunately, a bit late for Igor 7.

DimLabels are indeed a fantastic feature!
It would be awesome if they could also be used as text markers on graphs (just in case someone looks into implementing the above suggestion at some point in the future)!
