Demo Waves in Materials

Outline

This self-standing demonstration tries to give a cartoon representation of how an electromagnetic wave (light) will interact with different polarization modes in a material. The modes are electronic (atomic or molecular orbitals), ionic (ion pairs), and plasmon (free electrons). You can change the relative wavelength or offset starting point for the input wave. You can change the relative positions of the atoms or ions. Clicking the Run button will simulate the wave traveling in time through the material.
