The mac version of igor does not have background as the windows version.
Isnt it better to have a background with all Igor windows inside instead of everything floating everywhere on the desk?
I would love this feature to be available in the future!

I am puzzled. This is the standard behavior of ALL Mac applications. Are you asking Igor Pro to design against the well-accepted norm?

Yes, but not as a built-in behavior for a Mac application. When I want an app with a built-in Windows look on my Mac, I will run a Windows application. I'd rather not buy a Mac app that tries to be a Windows app from the start.

A strong equivalent to the "feature" you want is already in place even when it is not directly built-in in the way you want. You can ...
Run the Windows version in Parallels on your Mac, or
Use the Finder or Application menu to Hide (Igor Pro or Others or ...) as desired, or
Use the wonderful Window Desktops package from Adam Light found here ...
An early development version of Igor 7 actually had this available. It worked so badly on Macintosh that we have abandoned it.
On Windows we tried to make the non-framed behavior available, and the menus got so confused we had to abandon that, too!
Wow! You guys are more ambitious than I had imagined.
(thinking out loud here) ... Given this open notice, and since Adam is now in-house with you all, I have to wonder if Window Desktops might somehow become in-built in Igor 7.

I think the black hole of planet Apple at the office is too strong for such a thing to happen.

As JJWeimer says, you can always run Windows on your Macintosh...
