wavename from string

schmaud
I have some saved igor waves which i want to open, rename and process further.
Both wave and file name exist in a string.
I tried loadwave options /a and /n but they are not working for igor binaries,
thus i get the wave with the filename under which it was saved, which I have in a string.
How can I rename or duplicate a wave in a programm, when I do not know the wave name of the time of programming, but have a string which will contain the wave name?
I guess there is a simple solution, but I am sofar not able to find it.
thanks!

puting a $ in front of the string name does the trick.
found it here:
