ProgWinXOP on Mac
felixrico
I have downloaded the ProgWinXOP package for my Igor Pro 6.10 on (unfortunately) MacOS 15.8.
I have copied the files to the extensions folder (and some others to try). When executing a macro that uses the ProgressWindow command, I always get the same error "expected wave name, variable name, or operation. I guess, I have not installed the package properly.
Which is the correct folder to copy the files? do I have to do anything else?
Thanks in advance.
F
Install the XOP in the "Igor Extensions" folder in your "Igor Pro User Files" folder. To learn about those folders, execute this in Igor:
After installing, restart Igor.
BTW, it is possible to implement a progress window without XOPs:

I downloaded again the Mac version of the files.
I have then copied the files in the "Igor Extensions" folder in my "Igor Pro 6 User Files" folder. Same problem.
Copied also on the "Igor Extensions" folder in my Igor "Igor Pro 6.1 Folder" in the "Applications" folder. Same problem.
I also tried to do the same but just copying the alias of the files and not the files themselves. Same problem.
By installing the files, I understand just copy them in the folder, right?
Is there anything I am missing?
Thanks again,
F

I don't think so.
I'm not sure where you got the XOP from. I downloaded it from the WaveMetrics FTP server. That file is very (13 year!) old and PowerPC only. It will not run on an Intel Macintosh.
I thought there was a newer version but I am unable to find it.
You might consider asking on the Igor mailing list. One of the authors of ProgWinXOP was seen there recently.

For new code you may prefer to use Igor's built-in progress window feature. For details execute:
