Plus Fill Color

I have a bar graph and I would like to specify the plus fill colors for each bar. I've noticed that ModifyGraph plusRGB only accepts a single color which is applied to all.
Would my only course of action be to make a duplicate wave, setting the bar height to zero for those I wish to maintain 1 color, and set a plusRGB color for this appendedwave?? Setting Grouping to "keep with next" will place the mask wave over the data wave.
Ideally, I would like to specify a triplet wave which contains the color for fill bar. Currently, specifying color as f(z) does not affect the plusRGB color.
