My pentax camera generates raw files under .pef format.
How to load these images into Igor for processing ?
For the moment i can use Photoshop to create a tiff image but it is too heavy.
IGOR does not provide direct support for .pef image files. Depending on what platform you are working on, you might want to use some third party program to convert the images to one of the formats supported by IGOR. TIFF images would generally be at least 2x the size because raw images tend to be saved before Bayer interpolation.
You might want to try saving the images in PNG files, a format that supports non-lossy compression which may or may not have any size advantage over compressed TIFF.
Note: although I do not normally recommend this, there are some applications where you could use a JPEG file format where the lossy compression gives you a relatively small file size.
