Can someone explain the attached image. I set the width of a line profile to 9. The overlaid profile placed on my image shows a diameter width of approximately 13 (not 18)?
It is usually a good idea if you identify the version of Igor that you are using. Please make sure that you are running the latest IP7 because there were some changes to the code that may explain your experience.
Please send a copy of this experiment (just the data and image) to support@wavemetrics.com. I am unable to tell what is going on from the figure you provided.

Thanks for the link. For the time being I'm going to stay frustrated that functionality decreased and hope things improve. I also find that the Particle Analysis interface has decreased in usefulness from IP 6

I really do not understand why you think that "functionality decreased". If you are unhappy with IP7's Image menu, you should be aware that nothing keeps you from using the old Image Processing Procedures in IP7 or even IP8.
After releasing IP7 we received some comments relating to the Line Profile dialog. The main objection to the dialog was that the profile graph is not a regular Igor graph window and as such does not support arbitrary user interaction. The most reasonable requests involved support cursors and scaling. This was added to IP8 so I encourage you to join the IP8 beta testing and send your feedback.
