Hi.
I am sorry if this is a very basic question. I have made an igor procedure that I would like to use for teaching. I currently use Igor version 5. I was wondering if any of the newer versions of igor will enable me to compile this into an executable format (such as an .exe) that i can use to deploy on many computers in our lab.
I did try searching the forum and the igor website for details, but I could not get a conclusive answer.
I assume that this is not possible in Igor and the only way to deploy this in a lab setting is a mutli-user licence. Can someone kindly confirm this.
Thanks
You can not create a standalone .exe.
You can deploy the Igor Pro demo which will allow you to run your .pxp file on any computer. The demo is fully functional for 30 days after which it no longer allows you to save files.
I have been curious about this too. The demo version is sufficient to run many of the things I do (and want to share the data analysis routines with others I work with), but it's a pain to acknowledge the warnings that pop up every time I start the program. Is there a way to automatically run Igor in demo mode without it asking for a license every time?
I agree that it would be very nice to have the option to run a "light" version of Igor without a license for teaching purposes. For example, it might allow (only) compiling and running ipf files that were generated in a licensed Igor application. It might not allow command line input (so teaching tools would be based in GUI), the generation of new ipf files, etc., in order to maintain motivation for purchasing Igor in non-teaching situations.

Thanks, HJ. I wasn't aware of that special license. Very good to know.
