IGOR GIS Functionality

I am running IGOR 6.3.7.2 and would like to create a heat map of a pollutant concentration overlayed on a street level map. I hope to use the IGOR GIS functions, but there is quite a bit of learning curve with the GIS functions and before embarking too far would like to know if I can actually create a heat map (image plot?) while using the GIS options in IGOR.

I have read the other posts about IGOR GIS and seems that the extent that has been discussed is using discrete markers in a shapefile atop a topo or other map, but it is not clear to me if I can employ the density style heat map in IGOR GIS.
