How to load some waves from the igor text files?

I have an itx file containing a butch of waves. I want to load just some waves (I can list these waves in a text wave) from the file instead of loading all waves. 

Are there any flags for "loadwave" that can do this ?

There is no flag to specify which waves are loaded from an Igor Text file - all are loaded.

One workaround is to load the whole thing into a new experiment, save it as a .pxp file, and then use the Data Browser Browse Expt button or the LoadData operation to load a subset of the data.

Another is to load all of the waves into a data folder and move the waves that you are interested in to another data folder.
