Horizontal category plot/bar chart?

I would like to have a bar chart (or category plot as they are called in Igor) aligned horizontally, rather than vertically. Is there any way of doing this in Igor Pro?

I'd also like to add that having an option to add individual datapoints to each bar would be very helpful (i.e. if you're plotting averages and want to plot the individual values that make up each average overlayed on the bar chart). At the moment I do it manually be adding a normal plot onto category plot and but that's quite painful and time consuming. Is there no easier way to do this currently?
The horizontal bars can be achieved with the /VERT flag from the display command.

Maybe you also want to have a look at

For your second issue I have no proper solution present...

I just looked in the manual - in the index under 'category plot' there is an item called 'horizontal bars'. Following this link takes you to a page which says you create a normal vertical bar plot and then select the Swap XY checkbox in the Modify Graph dialog (Graph menu).
Hope this helps.
James, on your second point I also do it manually, but have you tried the package "scatter dot plot"? This plots out the individual values with some options for binning etc. You can put a horizontal bar for the mean. This doesn't actually do what you're asking but it is a good alternative.
