Hello, I'm looking to possibly use NIST software for reference data for fluids. Does anyone know 1. if this is possible, and 2. how I might go about this?
The good news is that I did a consulting job that involved wrapping REFPROP in an Igor XOP, so I know it's possible to do that. That bad news is that, since I did it as a consulting project, I don't own the right to give it to you.
The further bad news is that I found it quite tricky (even for a professional programmer) to get my XOP to work correctly. You have to be quite careful with linkage to get all the right types passed to the REFPROP routines, and their documentation leaves a lot to be desired.
