Control Panel for power supply -amateur

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner in using Igor Pro, and also I do not have much experience in programming. I have created a panel in iGOR in order to control a power supply, which supports NI-VISA and is connected to a Win7 PC through USB. I would like to know how I can connect the various buttons, pull down menus etc of the panel with command line basic commands like SOURC or OUTP or whatever. How the port is opened, how I communicate with the instrument, where in the code I have to put the command line, etc. The instrument itself has a basic communicator but I need to surpass this and control everything directly by Igor.

Is there any (basic)tutorial or already posted code around? I am sorry for the noob question, but I am just starting.
