compatibility between mac and windows

Hi,

I am using Igor pro 6.36 in a windows laptop. My colleague also uses Igor pro 6.36 in his mac computer.
When we share an experiment file,

1. Layout size is reset to the default value.
When I change layout size in my windows laptop, it shrink to the default value in his mac, and vice versa.
How can we share a size of a layout? Because of some issues, we want to use a layout, not a subwindow layout mode in a graph.

2. Igor shows gray boxes for some copy-and-paste graphics.
I use MS Powerpoint to draw figures. When I copy directly from Powerpoint and paste it to Igor in my windows laptop, it works.
But Igor shows gray boxes for this graphics in mac. When I do this drawing job in a mac computer, I cannot see the graphics in my windows laptop.
How can we share the graphics made in Powerpoint?

Thanks,

Chanil

Page layouts are platform-specific. Igor attempts to preserve the orientation. For details execute:
DisplayHelpTopic "Page Setup Compatibility"

A workaround is to use the PrintSettings operation to set the page setup after opening the file on Macintosh.

For most purposes I recommend converting pictures to 4X PNG format.

I'm going to let someone else answer this.

No doubt on Windows you are pasting an EMF picture, and on Macintosh probably a PDF. These are not cross-platform graphics formats. The best format for sharing cross-platform is PNG. To convert the graphics in your notebooks to PNG, choose Edit->Select All, then Notebook->Special->Convert to PNG.

PNG is a bitmap format. You may need to choose High Resolution to make it look good even when zoomed. For the most part you can ignore the warning about taking a lot of memory.
